Organic Turmeric (Curcuma Longa) (foot) - Curry's yellow color comes from turmeric. For thousands of years, it has been used both as a spice and a medicinal herb in India. Traditional claims that turmeric contains medicinal compounds have been supported by science in recent years. The compounds in this group are called curcuminoids. Curcumin is the most important. Turmeric contains curcumin as its main active ingredient. As an anti-inflammatory and antioxidant, it has powerful effects. (1)

Some common health conditions are caused by chronic inflammation. Several molecules known to play major roles in inflammation can be suppressed by curcumin, but it needs to be made more bioavailable.

Free radicals, highly reactive molecules with unpaired electrons, are involved. It is common for free radicals to react with organic substances such as fatty acids, proteins, or DNA. Antioxidants protect your body from free radicals, which is why they are so important. Due to its chemical structure, curcumin is a powerful antioxidant that neutralizes free radicals. Moreover, animal and cellular studies suggest that curcumin may inhibit the action of free radicals and stimulate the action of other antioxidants. (2)(3)

Neurons can form new connections, and they can multiply and grow in certain areas of the brain. Brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) plays an important role in this process. It produces a protein that promotes the life of neurons. It can be found in areas of the brain associated with eating, drinking, and body weight, where it plays a role in memory and learning. According to animal studies, curcumin may increase brain levels of BDNF. Thus, it may delay or even reverse many brain diseases and age-related declines in brain function. (4)(5)(6)

Organic Ginger Extract (Zingiber officinale) (root) - Various forms of traditional and alternative medicine have used ginger for centuries. A few of its uses include aiding digestion, reducing nausea, and fighting the flu and common cold. Gingerol is the most important of the natural oils that give ginger its unique fragrance and flavor. Gingerol is ginger's main bioactive compound. Ginger's medicinal properties are largely attributed to it. Researchers have found that gingerol has powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. Reducing free radicals in the body, it may help reduce oxidative stress. (7)(8)

The use of ginger may lower blood sugar levels and improve risk factors for heart disease. Ginger may have powerful anti-diabetic properties, but this field of research is relatively new. A 2015 study of 41 participants with type 2 diabetes found that 2 grams of ginger powder per day lowered fasting blood sugar by 12%. Additionally, it improved hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c), a marker of long-term blood sugar levels. Over the course of 12 weeks, HbA1c was reduced by 10%. There was also a 28% reduction in the Apolipoprotein B/Apolipoprotein A-I ratio, and a 23% reduction in malondialdehyde (MDA), a byproduct of oxidative stress. Heart disease is associated with high levels of MDA and ApoB/ApoA-I ratios. (9)

There is a possibility that ginger may help lower cholesterol levels to healthy levels. Heart disease is associated with high levels of LDL (bad) cholesterol. During a 3-month study in 2018, people with hyperlipidemia who received 5 grams of ginger-pasted powder each day saw their LDL (bad) cholesterol levels drop by 17.4%. (10)

Turmeric 95% Curcuminoids (Curcuma Longa) (root) - Turmeric, a member of the ginger family, contains curcuminoids, which are polyphenol compounds. Its principal component is curcumin, which has a bright yellow color. As a food, coloring agent, and traditional medicine, it has been used for centuries. (11)

Curcumin, demethoxycurcumin, and bisdemethoxycurcumin are notable curcuminoids. Curcumin is the most active and healthiest of these compounds. (12)

BioPerine (Piper Nigrum) (fruit) - Turmeric contains compounds called curcuminoids. The most active ingredient is curcumin, which appears to be the most important. Curcumin is a polyphenol with several health benefits. A strong antioxidant, it has anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and anti-fungal properties. Curcumin, however, is not well absorbed in the body, which is one of its biggest shortcomings. (13)

Turmeric's curcumin is poorly absorbed into the bloodstream. Due to this, you may be missing out on its health benefits. It may help, however, if you add black pepper to the dish. Up to 2,000% more curcumin is absorbed when piperine in black pepper is combined with curcumin in turmeric.  According to one study, adding piperine to 2 grams of curcumin significantly increased its absorption. In terms of how this works, there are currently two theories. Firstly, piperine aids curcumin's passage through the intestinal wall. It may also slow down the liver's curcumin breakdown, increasing its levels in the blood. Therefore, curcumin's potential health benefits are increased when combined with piperine. (14)(15)(16)
